Crestwood's back-to-school night (aka Open House) was last Tuesday evening. As per tradition, students brought in vegetables and spices for our own version of Stone Soup. Some things left in the school gardens went in the pot as well, such as garlic from our summer harvest, a few carrots and potatoes and the last of the beans. Fourth and Fifth graders helped cut vegetables and cook the soup in big Nesco cookers in their classrooms, and in the afternoon the whole school smelled like Stone Soup!
For the open house, the soup was served in cups near the front entrance. The bike blender made an appearance for anyone who wanted their soup pureed!
