6:30 – 7:30 p.m.
The lantern walk is a special event that takes place after sunset on our school grounds. This is a rare opportunity to enjoy the beauty of Crestwood’s forest under a waxing moon! We will meet in the gym where we will “light” our lanterns and take a stroll through the woods to hear stories and sing some songs.
I believe we could all use some respite, however brief, from the turbulence of the post-election news this week. We may not be able to heal the nation's wounds, but we can come together in our own little community to share something special and quiet and peaceful in a place where our own children gather every day to learn.
Won't you join us?
Reminders
- Families are encouraged to bring flameless lanterns and/or flashlights to help light the path. Please, no open flames.
- Bring a cup or mug for apple cider. To support the spirit of Outdoor Education, we want to lessen our waste.
- After the walk, you will carry the songs, light and joy with you all the way home.
- Much of this event takes place outside, so please dress appropriately.
Students in K-3 have been making lanterns at school during art class with Mr. Bassuener. Families are welcome to make their own lanterns at home to use at this event. There are several ideas online to help you make your own special paper lanterns. Flameless LED tea-lights will be provided.
